Exciting investment at Coventry and Warwickshire Partnership Trust (CWPT) allows us to expand our existing Forensic Community Mental Health Team.

This ambitious, 2-year project is backed by significant funding and is focused on transforming mental health services for people who are a risk to others. Systemic Family Therapy is an integral intervention for our service users, and we are excited to pilot the provision in the service.

What we’re working on

  • Setting up a dedicated clinic space within a local remand prison
  • Improving the transition pathway from secure care to community services
  • Embedding forensic specialists into each Community Mental Health Team (CMHT)
  • Providing consultation and formulation support to staff and services
  • Creating a co-production forum for collaborative service development
  • Offering targeted therapeutic interventions in the community
  • Delivering comprehensive forensic training for all CWPT staff
  • Leading research on community forensic services to shape future care

We are seeking a therapist who can draw upon highly developed theoretical and practice knowledge in Systemic Psychotherapy gained from a master’s or equivalent entry requirements utilising extensive specialist knowledge from qualifications in more than one discipline.

A first post-graduate qualification in appropriate mental health/social welfare profession, for example, social worker/nurse/psychologist or AFSP-agreed equivalent plus a master’s qualification in Systemic Psychotherapy or AFSP-accredited equivalent (usually 4 years academic study, assessed clinical training and supervised practice including the full range of models within systemic practice and life span development).

What we offer

  • A supportive work environment with a focus on growth
  • Weekly team supervision to ensure ongoing professional development
  • Generous opportunities for CPD, tailored to your interests and career goals
  • Roles that match your skills and strengths, ensuring you thrive in your position
  • A chance to be part of a transformative project that will shape the future of forensic mental health services

At CWPT, we’re committed to nurturing a team of motivated and compassionate professionals who can make a real impact in the lives of those with complex mental health needs. If you’re ready to take on this exciting challenge, we’d love to hear from you and discuss how you can contribute to this innovative project.
